“Baby Shark” is a catchy smash hit of a song that became incredibly popular on YouTube in 2018. Now toy company WowWee has created a line of adorable toys based on the animated “Baby Shark” characters. Among their offerings is the brand new Pinkfong Baby Shark Official Dancing Doll.
The Pinkfong Baby Shark Official Dancing Doll is an adorable new plush toy by WowWee that sings the iconic “Baby Shark” song and and glides across the floor as if swimming like a real fish. It’s got a soft and lovely yellow plush texture (with a white underbelly), cute stitched eyes, clear sound, and graceful circular movements. Even its smiling mouth and pointed teeth are rendered in a way that is cute, not threatening.
Pros and Benefits
The Pinkfong Baby Shark Official Dancing Doll prompts kids to sing and dance (even “run away”) and get exercise in the process. It sings several songs and mutters a number of phrases that will amuse children. It is a bright and cheerful shade of yellow, entirely gender-neutral, and very soft. It comes with batteries included so it is ready to be played with right from the box—a huge benefit when given as a gift.
Cons and Drawbacks
The Pinkfong Baby Shark Official Dancing Doll was designed to sing and glide in circles. It doesn’t do much aside from sing and move, although that alone will make it very appealing to a young age range. To its credit, it does bounce off objects like kitchen chairs, kitchen island, etc., but ultimately it is simply a singing and dancing plush.
Fun Additional Ideas
This toy is a great way to introduce kids to information about real sharks and, from there, teach them about marine life in general. Although this is purely a cute toy meant gig entertainment purposes, it can open the door for conversations about real animals, the ecosystem, and other timely and important topics.
The Pinkfong Baby Shark Official Dancing Doll retails for $29.99. To learn more, see here.
